Article marketing is an excellent way to attract new visitors to your site, while also increasing your link popularity with search engines. Here is how it works: You write a keyword-rich article about your specialist subject; for instance, if you are an internet marketer, you might write an article entitled "what is SEO?". You then submit your article to article directories, who will then publish your article, provided it meets their submission guidelines. At the bottom of the article is a resource box, which will contain information about the author, generally with two backlinks towards whatever site(s) they are promoting. Other website owners are always looking for quality content for their sites, newsletter, and e-zines. They will come across your article, and reprint it...with the resource box intact. This has a two-fold effect for your website; more people will find out about your site, and your inbound link count will increase. Good news for Search Engine Placement! The most important thing to remember though, is that do not submit the exact same article to multiple places, as this will fall foul of dupicate content filters that are in play on the major search engines. Do a little bit of a rewrite each time you submit, and you will see your link popularity increase steadily. |

High search engine rankings are the lifeblood of any website if you want to get more customers and more sales. Is it important to be listed in the first few pages? The truth of the matter is that if you want to get visitors, you must be listed in the top 30 results
A study about this topic was released last year:
"Key among the findings relating to the current search engine user community is that 62% of search engine users click on a search result within the first page of results, and a full 90% of search engine users will not look further than the first three pages of search results.
It's time to act now. This study confirms the importance of being listed in the first few pages. If your web site is not listed in the first few pages, changes are that web surfers won't see your site.
So, you ask, how do I get listed in the first few pages? Well, the answer is internet marketing/SEO(search engine optimization) -- what it means is to have your website optimized for maximum recognition by the search engines. Here's why you need it. It prepares your web site to be spidered, indexed and ranked by the major search engines so that when internet users search for your keywords, your website will appear on their results page. When properly executed, search engine optimization yields targeted traffic to the site and increases revenues.
There are key steps in performing SEO:
*Research your keywords, and write lots of content around these keywords. All search engines love content, so the more the better. DO NOT cut and paste from other sources, as this will get your site tagged as duplicate content.
*Make sure that all your HTML tags are utilised fully. Title tags and alt tags are very important.
*Add a privacy policy, contact page, and a good sitemap page to your site.
*Submit your site to all of the major search engines.
*Submit your site to lots of good quality web directories
*Find places that you would like to be linked from, contact the webmasters, and exchange links.
*As an ongoing process, write good articles about your industry, and submit them to hundreds ofarticle sites. This will provide a link to your site, and if the article is reprinted, will result in more visitors to your site.
These are the general guidelines for successful SEO, but I also recommend using a PPC campaign, especially with Google. It will take you a while to get this right, but when you do, will produce great results for you. |
