We are a heritage organization which undertakes projects that make a real and appreciable difference to the attractiveness of Galway as a place to live and work in, or to visit.

Galway Civic Trust has completed more than 50 projects since it was founded in 1992. Our work ranges from small-scale tasks such as the erection of plaques and the floodlighting of O'Brien's Bridge, to large-scale projects like the restoration of the Mutton Island Lighthouse and Keeper's Cottages.

Recent Projects
The Tea House, possibly 18-19th century, is all that remains of the Dangan estate home of Richard Martin. From the Tea House the Martins and their guests watched the activities on the river while enjoying afternoon tea.
